GM everyone and welcome back. I know what you’re thinking, it has been a while since my last article, and you are correct! 2024 is going to be a little bit different, there will be a new focus for the content/podcast show which I will explain. But first, I am extremely excited to be back and making content. There is so much going on in the world of crypto that I want to help build a better future and provide people with a platform to share the innovative projects they are working on.
The one problem that I have experienced is that the podcasts and content that I enjoy engaging with, and that mostly dominate the space, is a lot different than the content that people new to crypto want to consume. It’s too technical, the terms are too abstract and people who don’t understand check out and revert to calling it a scam. There isn’t education that fits the mainstream listener. This is the education I believe we need to develop as an industry to cross the chasm and bring crypto to the mainstream.
Over the last 2 years during the crypto bear, I have been having a lot of conversations with friends, family, and crypto twitter—answering questions like “is crypto dead?”, “are you still into that blockchain stuff?”, “told you NFTs were a scam”. Well, that last one wasn’t really a question, but you get the point. The crypto world was riddled with scams, shoutout FTX and SBF—RIP effective altruism—and there was reason for people to doubt its place in the world. Over this time, I spent a lot of time questioning if we were going to make it, but I never lost faith (wgmi) as the foundation of what crypto is based off, the meme ‘banking the unbanked’ is needed now more than ever before. From governments seizing citizens bank accounts to printer go brrrrrrrr, the moment is ripe for the taking. This is cryptos time to shine and I want to help people understand the opportunity that this is and help demystify the crypto space—we aren’t just evil shadowy coders that Elizabeth Warren says we are.
This is where I want my new show and content to go. Yes, we are going to talk to amazing founders in web3, including a special guest that we have lined up who has previously been on the show, but we are also going to focus on the basics. Bringing on guests to help set the playing field, why do we need blockchain technology? What even is a blockchain? These questions, mixed in with some amazing founders building innovative projects in web3, are the conversations that I want to have and will have in 2024 in beyond.
We are going to build the future together.
